now should use the code below

    sockpp::udp_socket conn;
#ifdef _WIN32
    DWORD timeout = 5000; 
    if (!conn.set_option(SOL_SOCKET, SO_RCVTIMEO, &timeout, sizeof(timeout))) {
        return false;
    }
#else
    timeval timeout{};
    timeout.tv_sec = static_cast<long>(m_timeout);
    timeout.tv_usec = 0;
    if (!conn.set_option(SOL_SOCKET, SO_RCVTIMEO, &timeout, sizeof(timeout))) {
        return false;
    }
#endif
