This task force will work with the publishing community to identify the processes, policies and infrastructure that need to be adapted to allow and encourage adoption of the software citation principles.

Tasks

  • Determine initial goals of task force
  • Identify contacts at publishers

Please include me as well. I'm a librarian at NLM and we've been having some informal discussions with publishers and editors on this and related issues.
Related question : I checked into the "support for JATS" issue here and can't determine the state that issue is currently in. If changes are needed for JATS to correctly support software citation, that would be important to journals indexed in Medline/Pubmed. Anyone know if that is considered resolved or if more work is needed? --Edit: Dan beats me to the punch! :D

@AlastairKelly I am on the JATS4R taskforce for software citation updates; we are in the process of working towards a public call for comments on our recommendations. The thread in #7 is consistent with what we are working on .
