The main documents for running foodsoft in production are kept in the source tree: setup production and deployment. But they contain hardly anything useful right now. Please add your notes to this page, and eventually they might end up in a coherent document in the aforementioned links.
Foodcoop-adam's deployment notes.
- mod_passenger is often used, with RVM (foodcoop-adam's install guide)
- On Dreamhost, this may be useful
Foodsoft needs to send emails (at the very least, to reset passwords). With all the spam-combat-techniques, it can be challenging to run your own internet-facing mail server, it may be easier to use your internet access/service provider's (or Google, if you use GMail). Read more here.
