Signal Hidden Window (Flatpak 7.24.1) #768
Comments
For reference, here is the debug output after launching Signal after deletion of all data, uninstalling, reinstalling, and setting up device link. (Normal launch) Seems like it might some sort of scaling issues? If it happens again, I'm going to try to set my scaling from 200 percent to 100 percent and see if I can see the window. |
Just today I experienced a not-seen-before issue launching Signal, where the application would simply not launch. I rebooted my machine and the issue appears to be resolved. |
Your issue might be related. However, when it occurs, rebooting does not resolve the problem. I just deleted all data, reinstalled, and am go so far. But I'll keep an eye out for the issue when it creeps up again. I've had it happen twice so far. |
I had the Database Error and then decided to just start fresh and now Signal does not show a window after opening it but I can see multiple processes running. I have updated to 7.28.0 from Flathub. It persists after a reboot but it works reliable when I use |
On my Framework 13 Laptop running Fedora 40, Signal will eventually launch only with the window hidden. (Not sure if reboot or sleep issue.) You can right click on the application in the dock and click 'all windows' and see the application. However, you can never bring the app to the foreground.
Uninstalling the application while saving doesn't work. The only way to get Signal to work again is to uninstall and delete all the data before reinstalling.
