Title: Feature Request: Native Firestore Desktop Application for Windows
Message:
Dear Firebase Team,
I’m writing to kindly request the development of an official Firestore desktop application for Windows.
Currently, Firestore is a powerful and widely used real-time database that serves mobile and web developers excellently. However, there is no official Windows application that allows developers or teams to easily view, manage, and interact with Firestore databases natively on their desktop environment.
A dedicated Windows application — similar to how tools like Firebase Emulator Suite or Firebase Console work — would greatly enhance developer productivity, especially for those who prefer or work primarily on desktop platforms. Such an application could provide:
- A graphical interface to explore Firestore collections and documents
- Real-time updates viewable directly on the desktop
- CRUD operations (Create, Read, Update, Delete) without needing to open a browser
- Integration with Firebase Authentication and Firebase Storage for smoother development workflows
This would be a tremendous help for developers, QA testers, database administrators, and even clients who need simplified access to Firestore data without having to navigate the Firebase Console in a browser.
Given the widespread usage of Windows in professional and enterprise environments, I believe a native Firestore application for Windows would be a welcome addition to the Firebase ecosystem.
Thank you for considering this request, and for your ongoing efforts in improving developer experience.
Warm regards,
Sahil
