Project Summary:
This project enhances the Filecoin ecosystem by deploying a high-performance, decentralized storage infrastructure that integrates multi-blockchain validator nodes and optimized Proof-of-Spacetime (PoST) verification. By combining enterprise-grade compute hardware, AI-driven workload optimization, and fault-tolerant networking, this initiative directly improves Filecoin’s reliability, storage efficiency, and scalability.
Key innovations:
Faster zk-SNARK proof validation using GPU-accelerated PoST workers.
Automated uptime monitoring and failover mechanisms to ensure uninterrupted Filecoin operations.
Scalable data onboarding framework expanding storage provider capacity from 1 PiB to 5 PiB in 12 months.
Cross-chain validator integrations for Ethereum, Polkadot, Cosmos, and Chainlink, reinforcing Filecoin’s position as a cornerstone of decentralized storage.
This proposal aligns with Filecoin’s mission to create a decentralized, efficient, and resilient storage network, ensuring verifiability, permanence, and accessibility for critical data storage and retrieval solutions.
Hardware Stack & Estimated Costs:
The hardware stack is designed for maximum efficiency, uptime, and scalability for Filecoin mining, PoST verification, and multi-chain validation.
Starlink Business (Backup ISP) - $5,000 hardware + $2,500/year service
Enterprise 10GbE Switches & Firewall - $7,500
Cooling & Ventilation:
42U Server Rack - $2,500
Industrial Exhaust System - $3,000
Dedicated AC Unit - $5,000
Total Estimated Cost:
$216,500 (hardware, power, networking, and infrastructure)
Funding Request:
We request $50,000 in funding from the Filecoin Foundation Open Grants Program. Given the grant cap, funds will be allocated to the highest-priority components benefiting the Filecoin ecosystem. Specifically, funds will support:
Enterprise-grade validator hardware for optimized zk-SNARK proof validation.
Redundant power and cooling infrastructure for uninterrupted Filecoin operations.
Core networking infrastructure for transaction efficiency and validator performance.
Software optimization efforts for zk-SNARK processing and workload balancing.
We will supplement this funding with additional resources from external investments and other blockchain ecosystem grants to fully realize the project's vision. This strategic use of Filecoin grant funding ensures maximum impact within the Foundation’s constraints while positioning the project for future scalability.
License:
This project is open-sourced under the MIT/Apache-2 dual-license in compliance with the Filecoin Foundation Open Grants Program.
Open-Source Scope & Limitations:
Fully Open Source: Components related to Filecoin Validator Stack, PoST optimization, and multi-chain validator integrations.
Proprietary Components: AI-driven workload balancing, predictive analytics, and proprietary decision-making algorithms remain proprietary as they fall outside the grant-funded scope.
Clear Boundary: Grant-funded work will be maintained in public repositories, while proprietary optimizations remain separate.
Additional Information:
We discovered the Open Grants Program via Filecoin developer channels and ChatGPT.
