I observed this issue (or the same behavior) with the last version of the driver. The VM was shutdown, but not destroy. And the cloudify CLI was stuck until a timeout.
OS host : Windows SEVEN
OS guest: Ubuntu precise
Vbox driver : vboxjws-4.2.8.jar
Cloudify VBox driver: virtualbox-cloudify-driver-1.10.jar
