Back to default new tab

As some browsers have some neat features in the new tab (like brave have news or chrome his apps) can we have a button that will open the default new tab?

You can create a dial with URL set to:

chrome://new-tab-page/

Although, the thumbnail creation algorithm will fail spectacularly here (extensions are not allowed to take screenshot of new tab page), so you'll have to add a custom thumbnail.

Thank you for the suggestion however for brave browser this won't work, or better it use only the defaut chromium.

Edit: i guess is a brave problem?

I don't have a brave here to test it, but try this:

Yes, I've already tried that, unfortunately it won't change.

I've installed brave here and checked what URL is used by their default new tab page and it's not helpful, because it's "chrome://newtab/", which is what extensions are using when they override new tab page.
So it seems that the issue you've linked is more relevant.

Sadly, I can't fix it here, we will have to wait for them to fix it in brave.

Btw, just to keep on records.
The app section can be opened with
chrome://apps

It seem however that chrome itself have hidden this function, before it was the default new tab.
