Describe the problem you'd like to solve

To create a route-planning app for cyclists. This platform will help the user to plan routes of different difficulty levels to improve their general fitness and assist them with training.

  • Each user will have an account (Authentication, Databases)
  • The user can plan and filter routes by distance.
  • The user can save their favourite cycling routes.
  • The user will be able to upload images of their routes (File upload, Multer)
  • The user will be able to view other users’ routes.

Who are the stakeholders?

  • Cycling hobbyists.
  • Anyone wanting to improve their fitness levels

Other considerations

What is currently being done to solve this problem?

There are currently other services available, but this app will be specifically for cyclists. The user will be able to browse recommended routes and all the information will be in one place.

What technology might be interesting to explore?

  • React
  • Databases (SQlite or postgresql)
  • Node.js (multer + more)
  • API Cycle Streets API

What product might tie together your learnings from the course?

We would use servers, databases, and Authentication to create a secure app. React to create components and render updates to the user.
