Sheet loses formatting when I call XLXS_CALC and SheetJS

I have a protected worksheet that has been formatted to print to PDF from excel.. I am updating the values of other sheets using SheetJS. When I read the workbook with SheetJS and thereafter save it, it loses all of the formatting. However, if I have to read the file with ExcelJS the formatting is retained. Is there a way to use xlsx-calc with ExcelJS?
