Wallbox reboot and vehicle change

Hi,

I have a ABB terra AC 3 phases wallbox. I want to use this wallbox in the winter with only 1 active phase.

I found in the forum that I can deactivate (before starting the charge) the phase number 2 and 3 and create a vehicle in evcc.yaml that is limited to 1 phase.

I created two vehicle which refer to the same car. One configured with 3 phases and the other with 1 phase.

The problem I am facing is when my ABB wallbox (modbus integration) is started with 3 phases connected and I select my 1 phase vehicle to charge it, evcc start the charging session with all the 3 phases and not only 1.

I have to restart my wallbox with only 1 phase to correctly charge my car with the 1 phase limitation.

I then created a script wich reboot my wallbox charger with 1 or 3 phases connected when I change the vehicle selection.
When I select the 1 phase limited vehicle, I reboot the wallbox with only 1 phase connected.
When I select the 3 phase vehicle, I reboot the wallbox with 3 phases connected.

But... after a reboot, evcc always switch the vehicle to the guest one because of the auto detection with is giving up. I then have to reselect my vehicle, which reboot my wallbox, which reset the vehicle to the guest one.... and so one...

Can I deactivate the auto detection ? Anyone has another hint for me ?

the phases value does not change the physical connection. It is just for calculation.

How do you do the deactivating of Phases 2+3?
Does the wallbox have a meter that transmits the phase voltages?

that´s weird. I do the same. Not with a shelly, but with a physical switch.
After switch off phases 2+3, the voltages these phases are shown with 0.
(This takes about one minute because of interval 10s and 6 loadpoints).

Seem's that the modbus register, when booted with 3 phases, are not refreshed in my ABB wallbox when I disconnet I2 and I3. Weird yes..

It is not a problem to reboot completely my wallbox with 1 or 3 phases connected. But in this case, how say to EVCC to not change the latest selectionned vehicle ?

I can perhaps reboot my wallbox not on vehicle change but on loadpoint phase change. Configure only one vehicle on 3 phases but which is connected sometimes to a 1 phase wallbox or a 3 phase wallbox..

I think, you do not need two vehicles.
If the voltage regocnition does´t work, the current recognition will do.
If you switch off phases 2+3, they are physically off, so the vehicle will only be charged on one phase.
And because of this, evcc calculates with one phase.

that´s not the problem. evcc calculates with the minimum of vehicle-phases and loadpoint-phases.

But in this case, how say to EVCC to not change the latest selectionned vehicle ?

you can select the car via API https://docs.evcc.io/docs/integrations/rest-api
POST /api/loadpoints/<id>/vehicle/<name>: set currently selected vehicle
But for that you need an external logic.

Ok, I tried with only one vehicle (I deleted the 1 phase vehicle) and have done some tests.

When the wallbox has booted with 3 phases, I can charge with the 3 phases but not with only 1 phase. evcc try to start the charge but always return to "waiting on the vehicle".

When the wallbos has booted with 1 phase, I can charge with 1 phase without problem.

I managed to boot my wallbox on the evcc phases change action. When I change from 3p to 1p, an external script will check the actual status (charging is off, charge current is at 0W and reboot the wallbox with only the I1 phase on.

When I switch from 1p to 3p, the external script reboot the wallbox with all the 3 phases on (if not already charging of course).

It works great. A reboot (to the "ready to charge") takes ~10 seconds.

seems to be a special feature of ABB.
