Possible to have different charing limit between grid charging and solar charging?

Hi,

I've a solar panel installation. I do not drive a lot every day(~60km), so I don't need, most of the days, to have the car charged to 80%+.

I'm wondering if there is a way to configure evcc to:

• to charge(during my low tariff), at least to 40%
• But still allow the car to be charge by the solar excess up to 80% ?

The idea is that some days I will have the car the whole day plugged and I will be able to charge enough for the next 4-5 next days, and some other day where there is not much sun(or if I've some late events), it will not charge except if I'm above 40%

you configured your tariff?

It is actually not possible to adjust the charging limit as you want.
There are two possibilities.

• you can use https://docs.evcc.io/en/docs/features/dynamic-prices#cheap-grid-charging . In that case you must adjust the charging limit manually
• you can use https://docs.evcc.io/en/docs/features/plans . in that case you must add a plan every day. ( a schedule is wip Add schedule for planner #16091

You could setup a charge plan with a target of 40%. Evcc will then use low cost times to reach it.

My concern with what you propose is that when the car will reach 40%, but there are still enough sun available it will stop charging and not benefit from this solar excess

not, if you use the planner.
The limit for the plan is set to 40% and if the targettime is far enough in the future, the planner will use the cheap slots.
The normal limit can stay at e.g. 80%, this will be used from solar charging

I see, thanks! But you're right, to be a working solution, the schedule for planner should be implemented.
