Hi Tomas,
We are in the process of upgrading the a new elastic and spring boot based version on ChannelFinder. I would recommend starting from that version of the ChannelFinder service.

I am in the process of adding an MIT license.

Yes,
We are currently in the process of getting the community to migrate over to the newer version.
NSLS2, berkley have already moved to the new springboot based CF in production. ESS is in the process of doing so.
