[Issue] Install script fails on non-EndeavourOS flavors of Arch #889
Comments
did you manage to install it? i also tried in cachyos a few days ago, but got an error for python-anyascii.. |
I couldn't be bothered and stayed with EndeavourOS manually installing the Cachy Kernel. As Gradience is EOL anyway, I suppose in a next version of these dots it'll be removed all together. |
hey @end-4 ! can you please look into it, it would be a huge help since even though you have endeavourOS listed in the wiki many people will still try cachy as that's the os you use currently or atleast have in your bio 🤟🏻 |
For my infrequent usage of my dotfiles and Linux lately I'm not going to replace Gradience any time soon, if I ever will |
oh wait so you use windows rn?
|
also whats the partial fix you mentioned? thanks |
The fix is that they do not care and updated the README to make that clear. Use EndeavourOS or move on I guess |
i removed cachyos from my bio this hasn't been properly solved, don't close it |
wait something's not right, i just installed the python-anyascii package from the aur? i think its available now then? |
The issue
Using the install script on any distro but EndeavourOS, e.g. CachyOS, fails due to Gradience requiring
python-anyascii
as a dep which isn't available anymore on the AUR.Since EndeavourOS' flavor of Gnome comes with Gradience OOTB it works just fine with that.
