There are many scenarios where a GET Request could have a payload to specify what is being searched with many criterias, and in a more concise way than using solely query params.
I understand that this could lead to a RESTFul compliance discussion, but, at least, in my point of view, the main characteristic of a GET resquest is to return the desired data for the API client. If many criterias are needed, why not use payload to do it? Elasticsearch uses this strategy on its REST API.
