Black screen when launching the game

Hello, when launching the game I get a black screen every time. I can use the mouse to hover over options in the game but I can't see anything, including my mouse. I managed to get the game to launch with visuals by disabling "Run the game in DirectX 9" setting, but because doing that disables shaders, I was wondering if there's another solution for this issue that doesn't involve disabling shaders.
