Search function does not work correctly

Steps to reproduce

Try to search for a person in element; if you type the name too quickly the search closes and you type in your latest chat.
This is very annoying.

Outcome

What did you expect?

That you can type quick and still be able to use the search function normally.

What happened instead?

The search function closes
