Ehcache 3.0.0.m1 release
First Milestone release
This first milestone marks the arrival of tiering and especially offers an off-heap tier.
The off-heap store extends the in-memory store to memory outside the of the object heap. This store, which is not subject to Java garbage collection (GC), is limited only by the amount of RAM available.
Getting started
Ehcache 3.0.0.m1 has been released to maven central under the following coordinates:

First Alpha release
Ehcache3 is a brand new API for the well known caching library for Java, which was first released 10 years ago. This first alpha release focuses on providing the feature set necessary for first class support of JSR-107, aka JCache, and a few additional items:
- Support for JSR-107
- XML configuration support
- Cache templates to enhance existing JSR-107 deployments
- New Core Ehcache3 APIs (work in progress)
- New modular core, with extension points
