This extension is link against libsmbclient which is GPLv3, and whi is incompatible with this the BSD License

I think a License change is needed, else we'll have to remove this extension from Linux distribution

The conclusion by Fedora is that there is no license compatibility concern in this case:

Debian removed the package from the repository.
