When will theia ai be able to release a stable version?

With the upcoming release 1.59 (en of February) Theia AI will become 'stable' and the AI features in the Theia IDE will enter an alpha phase.
However, you do not have to wait for this, Theia AI is already used in production. The earlier you adopt it, the earlier you can provide feedback or adapt it to your specific needs. Let me know if you have any questions or specific issues.

The "input box becomes unavailable" issue you mentioned is unknow to me, so please report this.
For the other issue: OpenAI has switched its default system role to "developer". It seems you are using a model that does not support this enw default yet. You can influence the system roles with the the "developerMessageSetting", see https://github.com/eclipse-theia/theia/tree/master/packages/ai-openai#custom-models for the 1.59 version.

I'm sorry that we have not had time to submit PR recently because we are busy developing other features. We should upgrade our theia version to adopt theia ai soon.

I tried to modify the value of developerMessageSetting and found that it didn't work. I am using a deepseek model deployed by a third party and also using a compatibility interface. Is this a compatibility issue between the third-party model and OpenAI? But this problem prevents me from using theia ai as soon as possible. How can I solve this problem? Because in 1.57, the same configuration is valid.

I used DeepSeek Chat with 1.57 without issues, for deep Seek R, this fix is required: #14877

Could you provide more details on the issue, ideally the error message?

Thank you for your answer. I found the solution in this blog post. Just add "supportsDeveloperMessage": false. We should be able to access theia's AI features starting next week .

Be aware that this setting will chnage in the upcoming release, see: https://github.com/eclipse-theia/theia/tree/master/packages/ai-openai#custom-models
You will just need to adapt your setting accordingly.
