It could be nice to have it as a standalone app (using XULRunner).

I suppose that you think about a kind of application such as TweetDeck or MetroTwit, right? Personally, I no longer wish to overload my system with applications only dedicated to a so slight purpose: an extension seems to answer perfectly the needs... 👍

I'm not a standalone Twitter apps user either, but why not, with a low priority
