Make the GUI history button more visible

The appearance of the History button can be improved to be more visible and pronounced.
This is the email discussion with suggestions:

Perhaps, we could place a common icon for "history" somewhere to indicate what's hidden inside the popout?

An icon that's 2 or 3 times as big as the current arrow could work. Or add the word History vertically below the icon. Or make having the history open be the default.
