Thank you for letting me know about this!

If you go into the options menu in game, under "General" there is a button to open the "main" assets folder under your Documents (Documents\TabletopClub\assets), it should automatically open file explorer when you click it - try placing your asset pack folder in there and either clicking the "Reimport Assets" button or restarting the game.

If that doesn't get your cards to appear, then it would be much appreciated if you submit a bug report on GitHub so I can try to help you further and track the bug for future reference :

I did try that and the program does not register the packs at all or their contents. The images only appear as cards when you put them directly into the assets/TabletopClub/cards folder with the included assets (playing cards). Then they appear as individual cards. The asset packs do not show up anywhere in the program. I've also tried multiple types of images (like a playmat for instance) again, it refuses to see the directories.

Thank you for submitting a bug report on this! I have a theory that it may be Windows not giving Tabletop Club permission to read the asset packs from those external folders, but I need to check a few things first while I try to replicate this bug on my own Windows machine.

  • Did you download the game as a .zip file, or did you install it via the Itch app? If it was through the app, did you enable "sandboxed mode" in the app's options?
  • When you clicked "Open Assets Folder" in the options menu, did file explorer pop up with the expected folder? In other words, did the game create the folder that I mentioned on it's own?
  • Are you able to load save files in-game? You can test this by entering a singleplayer game, going to "Menu", clicking "Save game", and typing in a name for your file. You should then be able to load it back in without any errors. If there are errors during this, please let me know!

If you're able to as well, I would like to see the game's logs as well just in case there were any background errors. On Windows, they are located in %APPDATA%\Tabletop Club\logs\, which I think you should just be able to put in the address bar at the top of file explorer. There should be multiple files in there, if you can compress them all into a .zip file, and drag-and-drop it into the next message you send here, then I can read through them 👍
