Right now tying a GCS repository to a project ID is required by the beta api for GCS, but should not be absolutely necessary, or at least should be able to be done in a better way.

This ask is that either:

  • The setting of the project ID can be done in something like settings.xml
  • The need for specifying a project ID be removed.
