Ran into the same issue, I ransudo apt install libzeitgeist-2.0-0 on Ubuntu 20.04, but meson build still failed and claimed the library was not installed.

EDIT: Sorry didn't see the -dev part, works perfectly

Zeitgeist became an optional dependency since da56b80, so I think we can close this issue as completed.
