Describe the bug
Opening a new tab in a snapped GNOME Terminal, either by clicking the new tab button or using the keyboard shortcut, causes the terminal window to become unsnapped and move to a weird position between two displays.

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Open a new GNOME Terminal window (do not open additional tabs yet).
  2. Snap the window to any available tile.
  3. Open a new tab by clicking the new tab button or using the keyboard shortcut Shift+Ctrl+T.
  4. The GNOME Terminal window will become unsnapped from the tile.

Additional context
I have tried resetting the settings of the Tiling shell; however, it doesn't fix the problem. I only have two additional GNOME extensions installed, besides the two default extensions included with Ubuntu. One is for displaying an extension list in the tray, and the other is for clipboard history.

Hello, thank you for reporting this. Unfortunately anything can be done to fix this. Other window manager and tiling extensions are having the same issue too
