Describe the feature you'd like
Just want to start by saying I've been looking for a project like this for months and I am so glad I found it. This project is 99% perfect for me except for this small improvement I'd like to suggest. It's a feature similar to Windows 11's tile manager.
When a window is dragged into a screen corner in a way it takes full height but a percentage of the screen width it tiles and creates a temporary tile to the adjacent side where you can select another window from the current workspace to tile with a complementary tile.
I am not expecting a 1:1 copy of the feature exactly because tiling shell already expands and improves into many features, but what I am suggesting is the ability to quick tile an adjacent window, with less mouse interaction than what we currently have here.
And again, thank you for this amazing project, this is so good I believe it deserves to be a full part of the default GNOME experience.
Hey thank you sharing this suggestion. I began working on implementing this some weeks ago and we are tracking this here #62.
I'm starting by introducing all of this when you tile a window. Then the same popup will show up when you tile the window to screen edge (like you suggested). It will look like this:
tilingpopup.mp4
This is still in a huge work in progress. I hope to work on it soon!
