The current 2FA page is a bit abrupt and unfriendly. And ugly.

How can we fix this? I have some ideas.

  • When logging in with social media, show some context, eg "hey, your social login worked, but we need your 2fa"
  • Reword text to be more casual
  • Add a header to fit in

A more intense idea is to make it appear more like a popup, or with a special page format. Like a dedicated box in the middle of the page, styled to look like other sites 2FA prompts. The current design is a bit ugly and feels less friendly to the user. This might end up being a full redesign of the login flow, though.
