when resolvconf-admin manually overwrites /etc/resolv.conf, it copies the ownership and permissions of the original file. however, if the original file had any ACLs on it, they will be lost.

the downside of adding this support would be linking to another library (-lacl), which increases the attack surface of the setuid binary.
