Step required to automatically run this program after reboot:

        sudo nano /etc/systemd/system/pylonmonitor.service

add this content:

        [Unit]
        Description=pylonmonitor Service
        Wants=network-online.target
        After=network-online.target

        [Service]
        Type=simple
        WorkingDirectory=/home/kurt/pylonmon_RPI
        ExecStart=/home/kurt/pylonmon_RPI/pylonmonitor
        User=root

        [Install]
        WantedBy=multi-user.target

enable and start the service:

        sudo systemctl daemon-reload
        sudo systemctl enable pylonmonitor.service
        sudo systemctl start pylonmonitor.service

check (also after reboot) that the service is running:

        sudo systemctl status pylonmonitor.service
