Guardian E&G Co., Ltd. is a specialized IT convergence company combining electric / electronic and wireless communication technologies.

We have applied loT technology to existing road lighting (streetlight / security, etc.) and applied it to the smart grid (wireless remote lighting and energy control system), water grid (unmanned water meter reading system) , Disabled people, poor people, etc.) into one system, we are taking a step forward in enhancing the lives of the people through the "ONE-STOP Happy Safety System" Hanaro.

The Guardian wireless networking network, which was created by the Unimo and International Electronics technicians who produced the police station radio and VHF unidirectional wireless communication, is a powerful wireless communication network based on wide-area multi-party communication. It is able to transmit reliable information securely It is also possible to implement various additional services by building an "open" wireless network that can be used by third parties.

    The company was founded on March 4, 2014 and has been operating for 8 years to date.

    Our company has developed various end devices of IoT LoRa wireless communication method.

The main LoRa development and sales products

  1. Street light, security light remote control and failure monitoring system
  2. Waterworks meter reading system
  3. Environmental information reminder (fine dust measurement, temperature and humidity, wind speed, current time)
  4. Electric vehicle charger (level 2, 7kWh or higher)
  5. All-in-one smart pole (Street light lighting control + CCTV + information alert + emergency bell + mobile phone charging + emergency bell, etc.)

  • How many have you sold?

    More than 50,000 units of the above products have been sold to the central and local governments, and until now, they have been operating well through the control system.

  • What brought you to the Helium Network?

From 2017, we Started the LoRa gateway construction project. Received technology transfer from LoRa gateway developer called SETALAB.

Currently, LoRa gateways are being built throughout the local government of Daegu Metropolitan City in Korea.

The reasons for introducing a helium network are as follows.

  1. In Korea, the government-centered LoRa gateway construction has been progressing. Therefore, there were difficulties in securing a budget and selecting a site.
  2. For the epoch-making expansion of LoRa gateway construction, it was determined that the method through the helium network was the most effective.
  3. I was interested in the complex solution method of the existing government LoRa gateway and helium network method, so I participated.

    It has been shipped to Southeast Asia by supplying remote lighting control controllers to other LED manufacturers in Korea (LC method).

    On December 21, 2018, our company acquired CE certification for LED Street Light Controller (GDS-100T).

Which countries do you plan to ship to and get regulatory certifications for? (required)

First, we will focus on sales in South Korea (KR920) and then in Asia (AS923).

Hardware Security Element (required)

The basic software setup will be configured through the helium official app, and additionally we will use a commercial remote control service for maintenance

Manufacturing Information (required)

  • Have you built and delivered radio hardware products before?

    Our company has been manufacturing and supplying wireless communication hardware products since 2014, and at that time, it was a Zigbee, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi type product.

  • Have you built gateways before?

    My Partner, Setalab Inc, has experinced to built and maintenate LoRa gateways in three years

  • How many gateways did you make?

    In 2018, it developed and sold a product that communicates with SK-Telecom's LoRa gate. After 2021, it started to produce and built 100 LoRa gateways through technology transfer and collaboration with a professional LoRa gateway company called SETA-LAB.

  • If you have not built gateways before, are you using a third party manufacturer? This is the single largest risk with most hardware ventures. If possible please provide information about your manufacturing partners and supply chain.

  • Where are you sourcing your components from?

    From Local head branch offices(STMicro, Semtech, etc..)

  • How many radio modules/ concentrators can you procure?

    The initial production is 1,000 units, and mass production can produce 15,000 units per month.

Proof of Identity

Per typical KYC/AML procedures, proof of identity for major shareholders (25%+ ownership) will be expected to be provided privately to representatives from Helium Inc or DeWi board members. This will be attested and publicly confirmed by those representatives. Details for this will be provided after your application is submitted on GitHub.

Budget & Capital (required)

  • How many hotspots are you planning to manufacture and sell within the first six months of sales?

    We plan to sell 70,000 hotspots.

  • How much money will be required up-front? How much money do you have on-hand, and how much do you have access to?

    We need 5 million US dollars. Part of the cost is covered by pre-order sales.(2022-03-18. Monday)

  • What is your plan for additional financing if required? (This is the second biggest risk in new hardware ventures, getting almost over the line and then running out of cash.)

    Investment company and IOL Inc. Production capital investment is ready.
