We recently merged #195, which sets world-readable permissions when using desiInstall. However, this has not been deployed in any tag yet.

Even with a tag, that tag would not necessarily be picked up in desimodules/22.5 or 23.1.

When installing software in preparation for EDR, use desiutil/main or a post-23.1 release that contains a tag of desiutil that has the world-readable permissions implemented.
