does not work on macOS Monterey

when trying to run vagrant up

There was an error while executing VBoxManage, a CLI used by Vagrant
for controlling VirtualBox. The command and stderr is shown below.

Please note that this is on Monterey Mac OS

You have to allow Virtual box extension in Privacy settings and reboot system.
