Allow comments on ddev.com

It would be great if the readers could leave a comment under a blog post, since that's a pretty common feature for a blog.

It looks like there is no built in solution, but here are a few methods:

I'm researching this area, and have already tried adding comments using GitHub issues (but I'll probably try Discussions because they're more customizable) to our upcoming add-on registry, which may become part of ddev.com:

Thanks, I am glad to hear you like the suggestion :)

I do think that avoiding requiring account creation if possible (for example Github) would be preferable. In Drupal, using a Version Control System (VCS) is common, but not so much in some other CMS'es. So we cannot assume that everyone has a Github account.

In other words - ideally, it should be possible to leave a comment, without having an account, anywhere. This limits the options ... I know.

I think we'll go with GitHub authentication, mainly because it has built-in reactions on comments and will also serve as a spam filter.

If this were a blog about travel, cooking, or fashion, GitHub might not make much sense. But since we're all developers and everyone uses GitHub, it seems like the best option in my opinion.

Of course, if github auth is required it would probably be OK. I gave up on comments on regular Drupal sites 10 or 12 years ago, it was just too much work.
