I understand and agree with the point that we should explore some kind of "standard" for the samples schema, I'm not completely sure that DataPackages is the right way.
Looking at their Go lib, the last commit made was 3 years go. I don't believe that we should include dependencies that are not well maintained.
That being said, if we can find some sort of standard which has well-maintained libraries, I'm all for standardizing our samples index.
