transition from Google Civic Info API to Governance Project

The Google Civic Information API will shut down in April 2025: https://groups.google.com/g/google-civicinfo-api/c/9fwFn-dhktA

We will need to find an alternative source to use, likely the Governance Project: https://www.techandciviclife.org/our-work/civic-information/our-data/governance-project/

The Governance Project is working on their own API:

Coming in 2025, our Governance Project data will be available through our own API. Data in our API will be retrievable by district OCDIDs. We’ll be hosting information sessions with interested users this summer, and beta-testing our API toward the end of this year.

have you had any luck with that? I made a request for my non-profit client and never heard back from them.
