This a community-based OSS project. There are a lot of things to manage/prioritize, it's difficult to meet all needs at once. Some of these projects you mentioned have plenty of capital backing and/or big teams around them. There is a "search" tool that can be used with plugins/assistants called Tavily: As you said, this is an "openai" method, and I'm very excited to release something I've been working hard on for non-openai tool usage. We can make use of SearXNG soon, too. |

Hello.. Hope you are doing well my guy. Just have a question for you. In all seriousness and not being a dick, but what is the big holdup on web search for non-openai providers? To be honest this is my favorite chatbot but i always find myself looking another option because of the lack of websearch functionality.
For instance I've tried alot of chatbots looking for something better, found web search, but i like this bot more. For instance Ollama Open-WebUI has it, chat-ui/huggingchat has it, anythingllm, crewai, langchain, numberous other AI connected search apps I've messed with, BUT NOT THIS ONE.... Why?? And every one of those apps has search that allows to using a SearXNG backnd which I love.
But in all seriousness this is my favorite chat app.. You've done a good job with it. But what is the holdup on a web search from like a personal or technical viewpoint. Just wondering man...
Wish you the best for real
