LigBuilder script produces this error in the 1.6 version of Robofont. I wanted to dissect the problem but I can’t find it. Probably it’s because of the updated in the app.

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "LigBuilder.py", line 140, in
File "lib/fontObjects/robofabWrapper.pyc", line 2582, in appendComponent
RoboFontError: Cannot append a component reference to it self

Best regards,
Bahman

Hi Bahman,

Thanks for your note.

Are you using RoboFont v1.6 on 10.9?

I'm not yet using os 10.9, so I'm using the latest version of RF which still runs on pre-10.9 systems, and I haven't managed to reproduce this problem.

Out of interest, which ligature are you building when the problem occurs?

Best,
Dan

Yes!

Darn. If I knew I could run this version of Robofont on pre 10.9 I never would have upgraded.

It doesn’t matter which ligatures. Every combination produces same error. But thanks anyway.

Hi again Bahman,

I think I now have enough information to email Frederik. No doubt he'll know where the problem lies.

I'll email when it's fixed.

Best,
D
