A fun experiment I ran to try and emulate the departure boards on tube platforms using the TfL API.
You'll need a Raspberry Pi with a 16x2 LCD display wired to the following GPIO pins:
- RS -> GPIO26
- STRB -> GPIO19
- d0 -> GPIO13
- d1 -> GPIO6
- d2 -> GPIO5
- d3 -> GPIO11
If you build a jar and deploy it to the Pi.
Run with the following environment variables to allow connection to the TfL API. You will need to register for a TfL developer account.:
- TFL_APP_ID
- TFL_APP_KEY
