App loads extremely slow, main chunk is 5 MB which is really large, but it also then stalls for a second

I think having the DB and the backend be in different regions is a huge slowdown, I just changed that. We should investigate why it's 5MB though that seems ridiculous, I'm guessing extra images, cc @kalidiagne
