Theme compatibility issues with multiple networks, using Network+ plugin #181
Comments
Ping @MrMaz - Check out the source of http://secondnetwork.mmu.wpengine.com/. It looks like the dynamic.css file hasn't been properly generated. Any quick ideas spring to mind about why? Maybe the URL is wrong? |
Thanks @boonebgorges really appreciate you having a look at this, as I'm desperate to use the Commons in a Box Theme as I'm a big fan of it and of the CBOX plugin! If you have any more thoughts or if @MrMaz can think of why it might be broken that'd be fab as I've tried everything I can think of (although i'm no developer!). Thanks Alison :) |
Hi Guys I got someone from Elance to look at this and they seem to have fixed the problem - I don't fully understand but I believe it was a problem with the network+ plugin making the theme not work. This is the description below. Thought I'd let you know - If I find out anything else that would suggest an issue with theme compatibility as I move forward I will let you know! the network+ plugin change the uploads directory of the websites to the folder "files" in "blog.dir" folder but the last folder had a wrong permission and the files folder couldn't be created, so i have updated the permissions and created the missing folder |
Thanks Alison for letting us know. It looks like it was a simple issue of permissions. The CBOX theme dynamically creates a css file, but was unable to store it, due to the network+ plugin's upload directory settings. Let us know know if you have any other issues, and thanks for being a CBOX fan! |
Hm, I'm looking at the Networks+ plugin right now (or at least the version I have, which is a year or two old), and I don't see where they're doing any creation or modification of upload directories. @creativealison I wonder if this might be an issue with your server configuration rather than Networks+ itself. In any case, it might be worth passing this feedback along to Ron Rennick, the developer of the plugin: http://wpmututorials.com/ |
Thanks @vothsco and @boonebgorges, good idea, I'll pass on the feedback to Ron Rennick - and ask the developer, who I am seeing tomorrow, if it could be my server configuration, thanks |
CBOX member Alison Buckley reports compatibility issues with the CBOX theme when creating multiple networks. She has provided detailed information in this thread, including links to network sites where the theme works fine and places it doesn't:

Problem seems to happen on the secondary network - looks like the CSS is missing and slider not showing up. Thanks!
