To fully realize work with metals and alloys, many problems with reagents and temperatures need to be solved. Now the game has a lot of strange moments, like the ability to walk on liquids with a temperature of 100000 degrees, carry them in a mug and drink. The behavior of reagents in principle does not depend on temperature. Boiling and melting points of reagents as variables exist, but are not used in the game. (this should be fixed in upstream)
The mechanics of metallurgy should fulfill the following tasks:
Conversion of objects into metals (melting)
Mixing metals into alloys
Solidifying metals into objects of a particular shape (casting into molds)
