I love this program, as it allows me on an HP e-PC 40 to use many programs really well. I have tried to install Return to Zork and the autodetect fails and then when I select any sound card at all in the installation program, it simply locks up. There is no way to force the selection as far as I can tell. I am going to try to set it up with the settings I want in Dosbox and then copy the configuration files over.
the spec of your PC - Intel Celeron 1200
the DOS edition & version - Windows 98 DOS Mode
the Game title and edition & version, and where/when the problem appears - Return to Zork, during the sound card installation
the build/release of SBEMU, if you don't know, you can check the startup message (the first line) of running SBEMU - 1.0 Beta 4
what's the output of `SBEMU /SCL` 0, 220, 7, 1, 6, 5, 1, 1, 1, 1, 7, 22050, 0, 330, 9, 0
what's your command line options - /T6 but have tried all of the cards with the same result
have you tried other options, especially other IRQs - I tried 5 but was told it had a conflict
what's the result if only with HDPMI32i, and without SBEMU - Well, that gave me a workaround.
For posterity: If you DO NOT load SBEMU during Setup and specify the sound card settings you want, save them, and then load SBEMU and run Return to Zork, the sound card works! I haven't played through since I discovered it by reporting this error during setup.
