When might we see a Stripe API version bump?

Not that I have any specific need for it at the moment, but it seems the required API version is 2019-09-09 and the latest is 2020-08-27.

According to this https://stripe.com/docs/upgrades#api-changelog Commerce is 6 versions (2 major) behind.

The latest version is now 2022-11-15 which is 3 years, 8 months behind based on the version listed here (2019-03-14).

We do now have a need for a more up-to-date version as we would like to drop the card Stripe Elements type - which is now deprecated - and use the payment type instead (Stripe recommended) and get some of the other things the payment element offers, like Google Pay, Apple Pay, Klarna, etc.

While trying to rebuild the front-end implementation we have in an effort to see if we can implement the payment element in the current version, I ran into some difficulty. The Stripe JS library that gets loaded based on the API version is difficult to work with as a lot of the method signatures used are no longer the same as what is on the Stripe docs. Some methods don't exist anymore or are re-named.

It seems, even though I am logged into Stripe when going through the docs (recommended as their docs should adjust to the API version set on our account), it won't show me documentation relating to the version this plugin currently uses. This is not an issue with the plugin per-se, but is a symptom of using an older version.

The changelog: https://stripe.com/docs/changelog doesn't go back far enough for the 2019-03-14 version. This https://stripe.com/docs/upgrades#api-versions does, which causes a bit of confusion but is a symptom of the way Stripe chooses to version itself I think.
