I want to write mathematical expressions in this post, but also display dollar signs in free text. For example:
However, when I try to do this, the dollars that are in free text (In the line starting "As you can see, when we buy the apple for $2,...") seem to be read as denoting inline MathJax, and so render the text between them in MathJax. Obviously, that isn't what I want - do you know how I can fix this? Operations you have already triedI tried to use \$ to display the dollar sign in the free text, but this doesn't work - the text between the dollar signs still gets read as MathJax. Anything else?No response |

Just realised the issue - I needed to write a double backslash in front of the dollar sign to prevent it from being read as MathJax, ie |
