I recently ran into an issue where I am trying to run my pipeline through for the very first time, and because there is no release in github yet, a job that is trying to determine the next version number can never run.
Being able to specify default values for version, tag, & body to store in the files in the case that no releases are found at all, would help prevent this issue.
