move frequently updated landing page content into wagtail #372

a lot of the text in the landing page template was done out of expedience, changing content should be stored in the database instead.

This isn't a high priority at the moment since updates to the landing page are infrequent. Bump up if that changes.

minor tweaks to text, remove broken tutorials link

- much of these changes should probably be done via wagtail content
management, not manually in the template but for expedience it still
remains here. see #372 for backlogged ticket
