Top level specification is rendered at https://github.com/computablelabs/compspec/blob/master/TopLevelSpec.md

Edit: Moved specification into versioned markdown file. Keeping this issue to coordinate discussion.

This is awesome. Adding a comment below about a minting operation that I think is missing. Otherwise think you've captured most of the open questions via your listed TODOS.

  • Minting should also happen when data is used. Recall that data owners should receive more MarketToken as their data gets used. This design was meant to capture the fact that some subsets of data may prove more valuable (get queried more often) than others and therefore their contributors deserve more (token) ownership in a market, which translates to governance rights and a larger potential cashout via the reserve. This is related to T_util from the paper protocol. You may want to spec it out differently here and we can also treat it as a free parameter i.e. market creators choose how much MarketToken to mint and issue for data usage, if at all.

Good catch! Will update the spec for minting.
