Pros:

Good practice for making OAuth apps
Good practice to learn Google Cloud Platform process

Cons:

the PH Data Drop is available to everyone with a link hence only requires authentication via API key without user needing to authenticate by signing in (though when signing in authentication is done as well); might be too heavy handed for the user audience we think this package will be for
users might be turned off by the whole process of having to use OAuth authentication and end up not using the app; Use of API key can already be daunting
