Looks like Scala 2.13.15 is targeting Thursday 19 Sep, so I'll delay the Ammonite 3.0.0 release until then so we can add support for 2.13.15 at the same time |

I've completed the necessary updates to update all com.lihaoyi libraries to their latest versions, except for Mill which is updated to 0.11.12. This should be enough for us to publish the long-belated version 3.0.0 final.
Notably,
3.0.0 final will drop Scala 3.3.x support and only support 3.4+. This is because the latest version of uPickle does not support Scala 3.3.x. This may change in future as Scala 3.3.4/3.3.5 are released with the necessary fixes, at which point we can start supporting Scala 3.3.x in Ammonite 3.0.1 or something.
I am dropping official Java 8 support, as has happened in the rest of the com-lihaoyi ecosystem (requests-scala 0.9.0, upcoming Mill 0.12.0). It probably still will work for a while, but I'm removing it from our testing matrix, and it may stop working at some indeterminate point in the future.
I don't have any concrete plans to continue the Ammonite 2.x series myself, but if anyone is interested they can submit a PR backporting the necessary updates. I don't expect such backports will be difficult
Other than version updates, no major new development has happened.
I'm planning on cutting Ammonite 3.0.0 on Sunday 15 September 2024. CC @lolgab @lefou @alexarchambault
